Starrett PowerCalc software is now available on Android and iOS devices

Global manufacturing giants of precision measuring tools and saw blades, The L.S Starrett Company has unveiled their new PowerCalc application for Android and iOS devices. The free to download tool is designed exclusively for Starrett holesaws to increase efficiency and precision in cutting, and furthermore boostproduct life.

 

 

Previously only available online via the Starrett website, the PowerCalc system is used by industrial users, tradesmen and home DIYers, as a tool for selecting the optimal Starrett holesaw for your cutting application.

To download the app, currently rated five stars on the iOS app store, simply search for ‘Starrett PowerCalc’. Once downloaded you can input your preferred language and step-by-step it will prompt you for the required calculation information.

By entering a few simple details, including the required hole diameter, the specific type of material you wish to cut and its thickness, it will calculate which hole saw you should use.In the results you will find two performance categories: ‘Excellent’, which is the best possible recommendation, as well as ‘Satisfactory’ which will also carry out the required task but not as efficiently.

As with each of the results, by clicking the ‘details’ option beneath, it offers further technical specifications, as well as recommending the appropriate arbor and cutting speed. Within the app, users also have direct access to the Starrett hole saws catalogue, as well as a link to the Starrett website.
